My piece “Where Lineage Fails: Reorienting Diasporic Memory in Israel” is out in Women and Music: a Journal of Gender and Culture. If you are interested and do not have library access, please get in touch.
I was honored to contribute a biography of the legendary Zohra El Fassia for the Shalvi/Hyman Encyclopedia of Jewish Women.
As part of my work with the Jewish Women’s Archive, I also spoke about Zohra El Fassia on the Can We Talk? The JWA Podcast.
In 2020, I was a contributing researcher on the Society for Ethnomusicology’s NEH project “Musicians in America during the Covid-19 Pandemic.”
Here are some pieces I contributed to The Jazz Gallery's blog Jazz Speaks
and to Downbeat Magazine.
Some more academic press type reviews I wrote: of Greg Tate’s Flyboy 2: The Greg Tate Reader in Jazz and Culture, and of Esperanza Spalding’s Emily’s D+Evolution in American Music
Here is a piece in Ethnomusicology Review's Sounding Board
